In 1972, Fernández founded Tinto Pesquera, restoring an old 16th-century stone winery in the town of Pesquera de Duero. From these humble beginnings, he set out to craft wines of purity, structure, and finesse, wines that captured the soul of the Castilian plateau.

Over the decades, the estate’s success inspired a broader family of wineries united under the Grupo Pesquera name.
