2025 Vin Soave, Inama

Soave, Veneto, Italy

Floral Flint

Bright, floral and effortlessly fresh, Vin Soave is Inama’s purest introduction to the volcanic hills of Soave Classico. Chamomile, elderflower and iris sit alongside crisp citrus, green apple and a fine stony note, with Garganega’s characteristic almond character appearing gently in the background. It feels clean, mineral and quietly expressive rather than overtly fruity.

On the palate, it is dry, lively and wonderfully food-friendly, with fresh acidity, subtle texture and a clean mineral finish touched by sweet almond. Stainless-steel ageing keeps the wine precise and transparent, making this a brilliant everyday white for those who want freshness, regional character and a lot more personality than a simple Pinot Grigio.

For when: A midweek dinner needs something crisp, floral and unmistakably Italian.

Pairs with: Seafood risotto, grilled white fish, sushi, asparagus, fresh ricotta, prawns, green salads or vegetable antipasti.

Vin Soave is the gateway into Inama’s approach to Soave Classico and represents a significant part of the estate’s production. Made entirely from Garganega grown on basaltic volcanic soils, it captures the floral, mineral and almond-edged style that defines traditional Soave while remaining fresh, accessible and extremely versatile at the table.

Inama is one of the estates most closely associated with the modern revival of Soave Classico. Giuseppe “Bepi” Inama began buying small vineyard parcels on Monte Foscarino in 1964, convinced that the volcanic hills around Soave were capable of producing white wines with far more character and longevity than the region’s commercial reputation suggested.

That belief remains central to the family today. Stefano Inama developed the modern identity of the estate, while the third generation, Matteo, Alessio and Luca, now work alongside him. Inama’s white wines are rooted in the volcanic soils of Soave Classico, while its red-wine project is based further south in the limestone-rich Colli Berici.

The appeal of Inama lies in clarity and place rather than excessive winemaking. Garganega is treated as a serious regional variety, capable of giving floral perfume, mineral freshness and savoury complexity. Vin Soave is the most accessible expression of that philosophy, offering customers genuine Soave Classico character in a bottle designed for everyday drinking.

The 2025 Vin Soave is made from 100% Garganega grown across hillside vineyards in the Soave Classico zone. The soils are basaltic and volcanic, helping give the wine its characteristic mineral, floral and slightly savoury profile. Alcohol is 11.5%.

After destemming, the grapes receive a short period of skin contact before settling. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel at around 16 to 18°C, preserving floral aromatics and freshness. The wine then matures in stainless steel for around six months before bottling. No oak is used, keeping the style clean, direct and focused on Garganega and volcanic terroir.

The result is a Soave that tastes crisp and mineral now, with citrus, field flowers and the gentle almond finish typical of Garganega. The stainless-steel approach keeps the wine bright and refreshing, while the volcanic soils give enough character to make it more than a simple everyday white. It is ready to drink now and especially useful with seafood, risotto, vegetables and lighter Italian dishes.
