This is bright, breezy South African Sauvignon with plenty of zip. Gooseberry, lime, green apple and grapefruit lead the nose, followed by passionfruit, fresh herbs, cut grass and a light mineral edge. It has that classic Sauvignon snap, but the fruit feels clean and balanced rather than sharp or shouty.

On the palate, it is crisp, dry and refreshing, with lively acidity, citrus drive and a zesty, herbaceous finish. Cooler coastal-influenced sites bring freshness, while stainless steel winemaking keeps everything pure, direct and easy to enjoy. A brilliant fridge-door white for Sauvignon lovers who want value, brightness and a little South African wildness.

Bruce Jack Wines is a dynamic South African producer built around authenticity, provenance and expressive, good-value wines. Founded by Bruce Jack, the project brings together a small, experienced team with a deep understanding of South Africa’s varied landscapes, from warm inland vineyards to cooler coastal-influenced sites.

The wines are made to be generous, clear and full of character, with each range designed to capture a different side of South African wine. Tumbleweed focuses on vibrant, approachable styles that show grape variety and regional personality without unnecessary complication. The labels draw on a sense of wilderness, movement and cultural identity, matching the wines’ bright, open-hearted feel.

Bruce Jack and Marlize Beyers have worked together for more than two decades, bringing both experience and consistency to the cellar. For customers, Bruce Jack Wines offers easy trust: well-made bottles with freshness, personality and strong value, whether for weekday drinking, casual gatherings or food-led evenings.

The 2025 Tumbleweed Wild Sauvignon Blanc is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from cooler Swartland sites, with additional coastal influence from Elim and Overberg fruit. These cooler, maritime-affected vineyards help preserve acidity and aromatic lift, giving the wine its citrus, gooseberry and herbaceous character.

The Swartland vineyards sit across rugged, rolling hills with a mix of deeper red soils and sandier sections. Vines are mainly trellised, with some bush vines also used, and the grapes are hand harvested.

Only free-run juice is used, helping keep the style fresh and clean. The juice is settled using plant-based fining agents before being racked to stainless steel tanks. Fermentation takes place cool, at around 12 to 15°C, using selected yeasts, and malolactic fermentation is blocked to preserve crispness and Sauvignon Blanc purity. Alcohol is 12.5%
