2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Ibbotson Family Vineyard

Marlborough, New Zealand

This is classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with real clarity and aromatic lift. Passionfruit, grapefruit and ripe melon lead the nose, layered with blackcurrant leaf, lime peel, fresh asparagus and a subtle mineral edge. It has the vivid fruit people love from New Zealand Sauvignon, but the feel is polished, clean and nicely controlled.

On the palate, it is lively, crisp and expressive, with tropical fruit, citrus freshness and a mouth-watering finish. The fruit feels rich and generous, but bright acidity keeps everything sharp, refreshing and easy to enjoy. A brilliant Sauvignon for anyone who wants Marlborough energy, seafood-friendly freshness and a little extra family-vineyard character in the glass.

The Ibbotson family helped shape Marlborough into one of the world’s most recognised Sauvignon Blanc regions. Neal and Judy Ibbotson were among the first wave of growers in the area, planting vines in 1978 before later establishing Saint Clair Family Estate in 1994. Their deep understanding of Marlborough’s sub-regions has become central to the family’s reputation for bright, expressive and consistently well-made wines.

Marlborough’s appeal lies in its combination of intense sunlight, cool nights and free-draining soils, allowing Sauvignon Blanc to develop vivid aromatics while retaining crisp natural acidity. The Lower Wairau is especially valued for producing generous, flavourful Sauvignon with tropical fruit, citrus lift and a clean mineral thread.

The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc from Ibbotson Family Vineyard is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand. Fruit is sourced from selected vineyard sites in the Lower Wairau, a sub-region known for producing expressive Sauvignon Blanc with ripe tropical fruit, citrus freshness and strong varietal character.

The wine is made in a clean, unoaked style to preserve its vivid aromatics and lively fruit profile. Stainless steel fermentation keeps the focus on passionfruit, grapefruit, melon, lime and blackcurrant leaf, while careful handling helps retain freshness and purity.

The result is bright, crisp and ready to drink, with plenty of Marlborough lift and a clean, mouth-watering finish. It is ideal for seafood, salads and lighter dishes, but also works brilliantly as a refreshing glass on its own. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans, with alcohol listed at 13%.
