2023 Chambolle-Musigny Clos du Village Monopole, Domaine Antonin Guyon

Chambolle Musigny, Burgundy, France

Elegant, perfumed and quietly captivating, the 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Clos du Village from Domaine Antonin Guyon is the essence of Burgundian grace. Bright ruby in the glass, it opens with a lifted bouquet of wild strawberry, red cherry, rose petal and subtle spice, intertwined with hints of chalky earth and fine oak. The palate is pure silk with delicate red fruit gliding over supple tannins and fresh, mineral-laced acidity. There’s a quiet tension beneath the softness, a whisper of structure that carries the wine to a long, refined finish with notes of raspberry, violets and gentle savoury nuance. Effortless, precise and irresistibly charming, a true expression of Chambolle elegance.

For when: you want a Pinot Noir that feels like poetry, not power.
Pairs with: duck breast, roast quail, mushroom risotto, or a quiet evening in good company.
If this wine were a fabric, it’d be silk chiffon, weightless, flowing, and impossible to forget.

Domaine Antonin Guyon, based in Savigny-lès-Beaune, is one of the Côte d’Or’s most respected family domaines, renowned for its finesse-driven approach to both red and white Burgundy. Founded in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon and now run by his sons Dominique and Michel, the estate’s holdings stretch from Gevrey-Chambertin to Meursault, including several monopoles like Clos du Village in Chambolle-Musigny.

This rare monopole vineyard, lying just behind the village itself on gentle limestone slopes, produces wines that perfectly embody Chambolle’s reputation for delicacy and depth. Hand-harvested and vinified traditionally, the 2023 vintage spent around 15 months in French oak (25–30% new), achieving the domaine’s signature balance between purity and texture. The result is a wine of quiet intensity and seamless beauty, a jewel of the Côte de Nuits that speaks softly but leaves a lasting impression.

A true family estate and one of the quiet stars of the Côte d’Or, Domaine Antonin Guyon stands for elegance, integrity and classic Burgundian craft. Founded in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon, who began by purchasing small, fragmented vineyard parcels across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, the domaine now spans over 40 hectares of prime terroir, from Gevrey-Chambertin in the north to Meursault and Pernand-Vergelesses in the south.

Today, the estate is run by Antonin’s sons, Dominique and Michel Guyon, who have carried forward their father’s meticulous, terroir-first philosophy. Every parcel is hand-harvested, vinified separately, and treated with the kind of care more often reserved for Grand Cru vineyards. Sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention in the cellar ensure that each cuvée expresses its site with clarity and finesse.

In the cellar beneath their historic home in Savigny-lès-Beaune, the Guyon family employs traditional Burgundian methods: gentle pressing, fermentation with native yeasts, and élevage in carefully selected French oak barrels (20–30% new, depending on the cuvée). The wines are renowned for their precision, balance and purity, supple reds that highlight Pinot Noir’s perfume and structure, and luminous whites that reflect the mineral brilliance of the Côte de Beaune’s limestone soils.

From their village bottlings to their distinguished Premier Crus such as Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Frétille and Volnay Clos des Chênes, Domaine Antonin Guyon continues to embody everything that defines great Burgundy: quiet confidence, craftsmanship across generations, and a deep respect for the character of place.
