2022 Valpolicella Classico XVII, Guerrieri Rizzardi
Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy
The 2022 Valpolicella Classico Cuvée XVII from Guerrieri Rizzardi is a vibrant expression of the region’s historic terroir, crafted with precision and elegance. It presents a brilliant ruby hue with youthful violet reflections, clear and luminous in the glass.
On the nose, the wine is fresh and expressive, revealing layers of ripe red cherries, wild berries, and subtle notes of black pepper. There’s an underlying thread of herbal nuance and a touch of beetroot that lend complexity, lifted further by delicate floral tones of violet and rose petals.
The palate is medium-bodied and silky, showcasing vivid red fruit, sour cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant, beautifully balanced by gentle acidity and soft, supple tannins. A clean, linear structure drives through to a dry, refreshing finish, marked by a subtle mineral edge and a final whisper of spice. Vinified and aged in stainless steel, the absence of oak highlights the wine’s purity and bright fruit character.
