2022 'Bull Ant' Shiraz, Lake Breeze
Langhorne Creek, Australia
This is Langhorne Creek Shiraz with plenty of dark-fruited charm and a little bite of spice. Plum, blackberry and black cherry lead the nose, wrapped in chocolate, black pepper, earthy spice and a subtle black olive note. It feels generous and full, but the cooling influence of Lake Alexandrina gives the wine enough freshness to keep it lively.
On the palate, it is rich, smooth and satisfying, with ripe black fruit, soft tannins and a long, rounded finish. There is enough depth for steak, enough softness for easy drinking, and enough savoury spice to keep things interesting. A brilliant value Australian Shiraz for anyone who wants comfort, flavour and proper regional character in the same glass.
For when
A weeknight red needs steak-night confidence.
Pairs with
Rare fillet steak, beef burgers, lamb chops, sausages, smoky aubergine, mushroom pie, chilli beef, hard cheeses or a generous cheeseboard.
Bull Ant is Lake Breeze’s approachable, great-value range, made from fruit grown on the Follett family vineyard in Langhorne Creek. The label may be playful, but the wine is serious about over-delivering: ripe fruit, polished texture and a proper sense of place. It is exactly the kind of bottle that makes Australian Shiraz so easy to love.
