A rare and quietly thrilling Californian red, this Counoise comes from Eaglepoint Vineyard in Mendocino County and brings a wonderfully distinctive voice to the glass. Light on its feet but full of character, it opens with redcurrant, raspberry and red cherry, followed by wild herbs, black liquorice and a savoury, almost smoky depth. Silky, lifted and gently wild, it has the charm of Pinot Noir with a more mischievous Rhône soul.
