2025 Rosé Zweigelt, Weingut Bründlmayer

Kamptal, Austria

Cherry Blossom Snap

Pale, bright and wonderfully lifted, this is rosé with all the freshness you want and just enough detail to make it properly memorable. Sour cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry rise first, followed by violet, a hint of citrus peel and a gentle herbal note that keeps everything feeling taut and alive. The palate is crisp and juicy, with lively acidity, delicate red fruit and a fine, lightly spicy mineral edge that gives the wine shape and persistence. There is charm here from the first sip, but also a lovely sense of precision, making it feel elegant, refreshing and beautifully easy to drink.

For when: lunch stretches into the afternoon, and the bottle needs to disappear with suspicious ease.
Pairs with: grilled prawns, tomato salads, charcuterie, or simply something salty in the sunshine.
If this wine were a place: a shaded terrace in Kamptal, with bright flowers, cool air and a glass catching the light.

Weingut Bründlmayer is one of Austria’s benchmark estates, based in Langenlois in Kamptal and known for wines that combine precision, freshness and quiet confidence. The rosé is made from Zweigelt, Austria’s most widely planted red grape, and in Bründlmayer’s hands it becomes something far more refined than simple summer pink, all delicate fruit, floral lift and finely judged structure.

Weingut Bründlmayer is one of Austria’s benchmark estates, based in Langenlois in the Kamptal, where Willi Bründlmayer has built an international reputation for wines of clarity, finesse and site expression. The estate’s roots run deep, but its modern standing has been shaped by a meticulous, terroir-led approach across some of the region’s most prized vineyards, including the celebrated Heiligenstein. With rocky terraces, warm days, cool nights and the meeting of Danube and Kamp valley influences, Bründlmayer produces wines that feel both precise and quietly powerful, whether in Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Noir or sparkling wine. The result is a house style that captures everything compelling about Kamptal, freshness, mineral detail and effortless elegance.
