2024 TOMH Rosé Moschofilero, Troupis Winery

Mantinia, Peloponnese, Greece

Rose Petals & Citrus Peel

Bright, fragrant, and just a little unexpected, this rosé has a beautifully aromatic twist. Quince, dried apricot and red apple rise first, followed by citrus peel and a soft floral lift that feels unmistakably Moschofilero. The palate is crisp and finely drawn, with lively acidity, delicate red fruit and a clean citrus edge that keeps everything fresh and precise. There is charm here from the first sip, but also a lovely sense of tension and lift, making the wine feel elegant, distinctive and very easy to return to.

For when: the sun is out, the plates are light, and the first bottle disappears with suspicious speed.
Pairs with: grilled prawns, tomato salads, sushi, or salty snacks in the late afternoon.
If this wine were a place: a bright Greek terrace with pale stone underfoot and citrus on the breeze.

Troupis is based in Mantinia in the Peloponnese, a high-altitude part of Greece where Moschofilero finds some of its most expressive voice. TOMH Rosé is made from 100% Moschofilero from a single vineyard in Litharakia, Mantinia, at around 640 metres altitude, and that elevated setting helps give the wine its freshness, aromatic clarity and lovely lifted finish.

High in the central Peloponnese, surrounded by mountains and cool breezes, Troupis Winery is redefining what Moschofilero can be. Though officially founded in 2010, the Troupis family had been cultivating their own vineyards in Mantinia since the 1970s, long before the grape became a symbol of Greek elegance. Today, the estate remains proudly family-run, a small, dynamic winery dedicated to crafting authentic, expressive wines that honour both land and tradition.

The vineyards lie on the Mantinia plateau, one of Greece’s highest and coldest PDO zones, sitting between 660 and 800 metres above sea level. The combination of altitude, poor soils, and a Mediterranean climate with continental influences allows for slow, even ripening, giving the wines striking freshness and aromatic clarity. Here, the pink-skinned Moschofilero grape thrives, producing wines that range from delicately floral whites to textured, skin-contact expressions and sparkling bottlings.

Guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention and curiosity, the Troupis family works with indigenous yeasts, extended skin contact, and a range of vessels from stainless steel and concrete to acacia and ceramic amphorae. The result is a portfolio of wines that are vibrant, individual, and deeply tied to their mountainous terroir. Troupis has quickly become one of Greece’s most exciting boutique producers, both a guardian of tradition and a bold innovator shaping the next chapter of Mantinia’s winemaking story.
