At the head of the Marion family estate, Stefano Campedelli and his wife Nicoletta are known for their wines made from high-quality fruit featuring a well-balanced acidity. A true thirst-quencher, this Valpolicella is easy-to-drink, supple, and fresh, with plenty of accessible fruit and a world away from supermarket Valpolicella. Bravissimo!  One of those reds you could happily drink without food.

The Marion estate has been in the hands of the Campadelli family since 1986. Based in the valley of Marcellise, just outside of the Classico zone of Valpolicella it is, relatively speaking, somewhat new to the winemaking scene.

It was Stefano Campedelli, a trained surveyor, who came across this parcel of land, no doubt drawn to the beautiful 15th century villa but also to the prospect of being out of the office. Stefano and his wife, Nicoletta Foornasa, began bottling in 1995, nine years after having purchased the estate. These are classically styled Valpolicella, with layers of dark fruit and an elegance throughout. Growing recognition of these wines is certainly deserved.
