2025 Zibibbo 'Vitese', Colomba Bianca
Terre Siciliane, Sicily, Italy
Orange Bloom
This is Sicilian Zibibbo in full aromatic flight: bright, perfumed and properly sunlit. It opens with succulent white peach, apricot and pineapple, then lifts into orange blossom, jasmine, lime zest and a little lemon peel freshness. The grape is Zibibbo, Sicily’s local name for Muscat of Alexandria, so the perfume is naturally generous, but the wine stays crisp and dry rather than sweet or heavy.
The palate is elegant, fresh and beautifully zesty, with peach, citrus and soft floral notes carried by clean acidity. There is a gentle roundness through the middle, then a long, bright citrus finish that keeps everything lifted and moreish. It is aromatic without being blowsy, sunny without being soft, and exactly the sort of white that makes a glass feel like a holiday.
For when you want a white with perfume, freshness and Sicilian sunshine.
Pairs with grilled prawns, seafood pasta, Thai salads, citrusy chicken, soft cheeses, courgette fritters, sushi, or salty aperitivo snacks.
If this wine were… a scent, it would be orange blossom drifting through an open window at dusk.
Colomba Bianca is one of Sicily’s great cooperative success stories, founded in 1970 and now widely recognised for combining scale with serious organic ambition. The Vitese range focuses on organic, varietal Sicilian wines, and this Zibibbo captures that approach beautifully: aromatic, fresh and expressive, with fruit selected for ripeness, clarity and varietal lift.
