2025 Dindori Reserve Viognier, Sula Vineyards

Maharashtra, India

The Nashik Golden Blossom

This is Indian Viognier with perfume, richness and a bright tropical glow. From Sula’s Dindori vineyards in Maharashtra, it opens with peach, lychee, apricot and ripe pear, followed by jasmine, white flowers, tropical fruit and a little white pepper. It is aromatic and generous, but still fresh enough to keep everything lifted. Sula’s Dindori Viognier is fermented in stainless steel to preserve fruit purity, with grapes grown on hillside vineyards in Dindori.

The palate is full-bodied, opulent and silky, with peach, lychee, tropical fruit and a gentle mid-palate sweetness running into a long mineral finish. It feels sunny and expressive, but not heavy, making it a brilliant match for spice, richness and fragrant food.

For when you want a white wine with perfume, warmth and a proper sense of discovery.
Pairs with chicken korma, Thai green curry, grilled prawns, spiced roast cauliflower, paneer tikka, coconut fish curry, soft cheeses, or aromatic vegetable dishes.
If this wine were… a flower, it would be golden jasmine opening at dusk above the Nashik hills, full of perfume, heat and soft evening light.

Sula Vineyards is one of the defining names of modern Indian wine, based in Nashik, Maharashtra. Founded by Rajeev Samant, the estate helped establish Nashik as India’s leading wine region and has built a reputation for pioneering international grape varieties in the country. The Dindori Reserve range shows Sula’s more crafted side, highlighting wines such as Viognier, Chardonnay and Shiraz with extra texture, polish and vineyard character.

Situated in Nashik, India's largest grape-growing region, Sula Vineyards was established in 1997 by Rajeev Samant and Kerry Damsky. They pioneered the cultivation of French grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc, first released in 2000 to wide acclaim as India’s best white wines. Sula now grows Shiraz, Zinfandel and other international varieties and is widely recognised as India’s premium wine producer. Committed to sustainability, Sula invests significantly in eco-friendly practices and supports local farming communities across Maharashtra and Karnataka, improving livelihoods and driving meaningful change in surrounding villages.

The grapes were manually harvested following careful selection. Whole clusters were gently pressed and the juice chilled to approximately 6°C before clarification and inoculation. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures over 25–30 days to preserve fruit purity. The wine then settled for 45 days before blending, fining, stabilisation and filtration.
