2025 Chardonnay Rebel Sip!, Undurraga

Central Valley, Chile

The Golden Glide

This is Chilean Chardonnay with freshness, softness and a sunny tropical glow. Unoaked and easy-going, it opens with yellow apple, pear, melon and pineapple, before gentle notes of vanilla, honey and white flowers begin to appear. It is rounded without being heavy, bright without being sharp, and very much built for relaxed pouring.

The palate is fresh, smooth and lightly creamy, with orchard fruit, tropical notes and a clean citrus lift carrying everything through. There is a soft honeyed edge, but the finish stays crisp and balanced, making this a cheerful Chardonnay for fish, chicken, salads and midweek glasses that ask very little and give plenty.

For when you want Chardonnay that is sunny, smooth and properly easy to love.
Pairs with roast chicken, grilled prawns, fish tacos, creamy pasta, chicken Caesar salad, mild curries, soft cheeses, or a salty bowl of crisps before dinner.
If this wine were… a breeze, it would be warm air over the Central Valley, carrying melon, citrus blossom and a little golden sunshine.

Undurraga is one of Chile’s most prestigious wineries, consistently receiving high scores from top wine critics. Founded in 1885, Undurraga owns 1,350 hectares of estate vineyard in Chile’s premium wine-producing areas, such as Leyda, Cauquenes and Itata and is certified by Sustainable Wines of Chile.

Head winemaker Rafael Urrejola has spent a great deal of time researching and understanding the diversity of Chile’s vineyard sites; the result
is the emblematic ‘Terroir Hunter’ range.

Undurraga cultivates its vineyards with respect
for the environment and follow a philosophy of minimal intervention in the cellar to showcase the terroir. In 2023, Rafael became the first Chilean winemaker to be awarded ‘Red Winemaker of the Year 2023' by the prestigious International Wine Challenge (IWC).

The grapes were harvested into 500-kilogram bins, before the clusters were placed directly
into the pneumatic press. Fermentation took place with selected yeast in stainless steel
vats to retain the purity of fruit, at temperatures which oscillated between 16 and 17°C.

Vinification lasted 12 days, in order to obtain the maximum aromas and varietal characteristics. This wine was made in an unoaked style.
