2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Sula Vineyards
Maharashtra, India
The Nashik Citrus Spark
This is Indian Sauvignon Blanc with brightness, snap and a properly refreshing green edge. From the Nashik Hills, it opens with grapefruit, lime, green apple and passionfruit, followed by cut grass, peapod and green pepper. It is crisp, aromatic and zesty, with the kind of clean freshness that makes the first sip feel instantly alive. Sula describes it as India’s first Sauvignon Blanc, made in a bright, aromatic style from Nashik Hills.
The palate is dry, lively and mouth-watering, with citrus, green apple, guava and grassy freshness running into a clean, zesty finish. It is light on its feet, unoaked and very easy to pour, especially when spice, seafood or sunshine are involved.
For when you want a white wine that feels crisp, bright and full of Indian energy.
Pairs with prawns, grilled fish, goat’s cheese, chicken tikka, Thai green curry, sushi, lemony salads, or a salty bowl of crisps before dinner.
If this wine were… a spark, it would be lime zest over the Nashik hills, bright, green and gone before you know it.
Sula Vineyards is one of the defining names of modern Indian wine, based in Nashik, Maharashtra. Founded in 1997 by Rajeev Samant and Kerry Damsky, the estate helped pioneer Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc in India, with the first releases in 2000 widely recognised as a breakthrough for the country’s white wines. Today, Sula remains closely associated with India’s wine revolution, combining international varieties, sustainable vineyard practices and a strong sense of Nashik identity.
