2023 Pouilly Fume 'Les Loges', Domaine des Rabichattes

Founded in 1869, this estate is now in the safe hands of 6th generation brothers, Fabrice and Vincent Grebet – although their father Gerard still keeps a close eye on proceedings. Situated in the pretty village of Les Loges, Domaine des Rabichattes now comprises 23 hectares of vines planted on a mixture of chalk, clay and flinty soils. The estate has invested heavily in recent years in a new winery and the renovation of the tasting room.
With their vineyards planted on three distinctly different terroirs, the Grebets have realised that they achieve the best results by vinifying these separately, thereby producing three different, principal cuvées. They have their “Calcaires” vineyards on the plateau above the hamlet of Les Girarmes, Marne soils in between Saint- Andelain and Les Loges and then Argile and Silex terroirs close to the commune of Puysac. For more than 10 years, the estate has not used pesticides or chemical weedkillers, with the objective of an organic certification in 2023/2024.
