2023 Quiñón de Valdlareina, Palacios Remondo

Founded in 1948 by José Palacios Remondo, the bodega is today a benchmark for modern Rioja, where Garnacha is restored to its rightful place as the grape of elegance, fragrance, and vitality. The vineyards, farmed organically and increasingly biodynamically, are scattered across the high-altitude terraces and rolling hills of Alfaro, with the most prized sites reaching over 600 metres above sea level. Here, Garnacha thrives in limestone and red clay soils, tempered by mountain breezes that preserve acidity and lift. The estate’s single-vineyard cuvées, such as Quiñón de Valmira and the newly introduced Quiñón de Valdelareina, showcase the extraordinary diversity and finesse possible in Rioja Oriental when treated with precision and respect.
