2023 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Vercots, Domaine Antonin Guyon
Aloxe-Corton, Burgundy, France
Rich, structured and quietly sophisticated, the 2023 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Vercots from Domaine Antonin Guyon captures the noble depth of this often-overlooked appellation. Deep ruby with garnet reflections, it opens with aromas of ripe cherry, blackcurrant and plum, layered with subtle notes of violet, sweet spice, and a touch of earth and graphite. On the palate, it’s generous yet composed with dark red fruit unfolding over fine, mouth-coating tannins and a mineral core that gives shape and tension. Hints of clove, cedar and mocha linger through a long, savoury finish. Broad-shouldered yet beautifully balanced, it’s a wine that speaks softly of power and longevity.
For when: you want Burgundy with both muscle and grace.
Pairs with: roasted duck, beef fillet, or wild mushroom ragoût.
If this wine were a personality, it’d be the strong, silent type - calm, confident, and quietly compelling.
Domaine Antonin Guyon, based in Savigny-lès-Beaune, is one of Burgundy’s most respected family estates, celebrated for its classical winemaking and commitment to terroir clarity. Founded in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon and now run by his sons Dominique and Michel, the domaine owns over 40 hectares of vines spanning the Côte d’Or, producing wines that blend Burgundian tradition with precision and purity.
The Les Vercots Premier Cru vineyard sits on the lower slopes of the Corton Hill, its soils rich in limestone and clay, yielding wines of generous fruit and fine tannic structure. The 2023 vintage was hand-harvested, fermented in small open vats, and aged for around 15 months in French oak (about 30% new). The result is a quintessential Guyon red: poised, expressive and built to evolve, a wine of understated power and quiet, lasting beauty.

- Producer Information
A true family estate and one of the quiet stars of the Côte d’Or, Domaine Antonin Guyon stands for elegance, integrity and classic Burgundian craft. Founded in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon, who began by purchasing small, fragmented vineyard parcels across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, the domaine now spans over 40 hectares of prime terroir, from Gevrey-Chambertin in the north to Meursault and Pernand-Vergelesses in the south.
Today, the estate is run by Antonin’s sons, Dominique and Michel Guyon, who have carried forward their father’s meticulous, terroir-first philosophy. Every parcel is hand-harvested, vinified separately, and treated with the kind of care more often reserved for Grand Cru vineyards. Sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention in the cellar ensure that each cuvée expresses its site with clarity and finesse.
In the cellar beneath their historic home in Savigny-lès-Beaune, the Guyon family employs traditional Burgundian methods: gentle pressing, fermentation with native yeasts, and élevage in carefully selected French oak barrels (20–30% new, depending on the cuvée). The wines are renowned for their precision, balance and purity, supple reds that highlight Pinot Noir’s perfume and structure, and luminous whites that reflect the mineral brilliance of the Côte de Beaune’s limestone soils.
From their village bottlings to their distinguished Premier Crus such as Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Frétille and Volnay Clos des Chênes, Domaine Antonin Guyon continues to embody everything that defines great Burgundy: quiet confidence, craftsmanship across generations, and a deep respect for the character of place.
