2024 10X Pinot Noir, Ten Minutes By Tractor

Mornington Peninsula, Australia

This is Pinot Noir with that unmistakable Mornington Peninsula glow, bright, pure and quietly seductive. The 2024 10X opens with lifted aromas of wild strawberry, cherry sorbet and pomegranate, layered with hints of rose petal, spice and a cool coastal breeze that speaks straight from the ridge-lines of Main Ridge and Red Hill. On the palate it’s effortlessly silky: red fruits gliding over fine, graceful tannins, a line of fresh acidity giving the wine its trademark poise, and a subtle herbal–mineral edge that keeps everything crisp, modern and wonderfully drinkable. The finish is long, elegant and feather-light, leaving the impression of red fruit steeped in morning sunshine.

For when you want a Pinot that’s vibrant, refined and dangerously easy to pour again.
Pairs with duck pancakes, roast beetroot, sesame-crusted tuna or anything shared over good conversation.
If this wine were a piece of clothing, it’d be your favourite linen shirt,  relaxed, flattering and perfect in any season.

Ten Minutes By Tractor has become one of the Mornington Peninsula’s defining voices, known for precise, vineyard-driven Pinot Noir from some of the region’s coolest sites. The 10X bottling draws fruit from multiple estate vineyards, capturing the peninsula’s signature mix of elevation, ocean breezes and volcanic/ferrogranite soils. In 2024, a long, even season delivered Pinot of exceptional clarity and brightness, a vintage that lets the purity of the fruit shine while maintaining the structure and finesse that make Ten Minutes By Tractor such a benchmark for modern Australian Pinot Noir.

Ten Minutes by Tractor started in 1997 with three vineyards in Main Ridge, all ten minutes by tractor apart. Over the past 18 years, Martin and Karen Spedding have added four more vineyards that have a diverse range of microclimates from across the Mornington Peninsula. Each of these vineyard sites features different aspects, slopes, soils, altitude and influence of the cool maritime breezes that wind their way through the valleys

This terroir and sense of place explain everything about their wines. Cool places. Beautiful places. Places that are defined by the wines they make and which can seem worlds apart. The refinement and vibrant acidity of Wallis; the elegance and poise of McCutcheon; the alluring aromatics and fine structure of Judd; the power and fruit purity of Coolart Road.

Each vineyard is intimately linked to its place. These little differences; in soil, slope, aspects and all the other things that make their vineyards distinct mean that while they may be ten minutes by tractor from each other, they are a world apart.
