Veneto Velvet

This is organic Merlot with softness, freshness and a lovely natural glow. Deep ruby with a purple edge, it opens with red berries, cranberry, red plum and mulberry, before softer notes of crushed herbs, sandalwood, tomato stem, coffee and milk chocolate begin to appear. It is fruit-led and honest, with a bright, no-added-sulphites character that keeps everything feeling lively and pure.

The palate is smooth, medium-bodied and easy to love, with red fruit, gentle tannins and a clean, harmonious finish. There is enough freshness to keep it versatile, enough softness to make it instantly approachable, and just enough savoury detail to stop it from feeling simple.

La Cantina Pizzolato is based in Villorba, Treviso, in Veneto, and has been organic since 1991. The estate works with certified organic and vegan wines, with a strong focus on sustainability, low-intervention production and its long-running no-added-sulphites range. The Merlot comes from vineyards on the plains and hillsides near the Piave River, where Pizzolato aims for pure fruit, freshness and a natural expression of the grape.
