Deep ruby in colour, it opens with aromas of ripe plum, blackberry and cassis, laced with wild herbs, cedar and that signature Bolgheri balsamic lift. The palate is poised and elegant with layers of dark fruit, graphite, and sweet spice unfurling over fine-grained tannins and a cool, coastal freshness. From its perch near the historic Donoratico Tower, Campo alle Comete has discovered one of Bolgheri’s most exciting new sub-zones. Planted at 230 metres above sea level, these vineyards sit among the highest in the DOC, blessed with sea breezes and abundant sunshine that create perfect natural balance. Crafted from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Cabernet Franc, the wine spends 18 months in French oak, one-third new, developing its supple texture and polished depth. Guided by Antonio Capaldo’s imaginative vision, this is modern Bolgheri at its finest, elegant, expressive, and, as its name suggests, a beacon of excellence among the stars.
