2021 Falanghina del Sannio 'Serrocielo', Feudi di San Gregorio
Sannio, Campania, Italy
Serrocielo is a true expression of Falanghina delivering delicate floral notes with exotic, zesty fruit aromas. Vibrant fruit flavours on the palate lead to a soft texture and a lovely minerality on the persistent finish.
The grapes were selected from the finest vineyards for this exclusive ‘Selezione’ collection. The beautiful Feudi di San Gregorio vineyards are spread out over lush and gentle hills in Sorbo Serpico, about an hour from Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The soils are uniquely volcanic, sandstone and marl. Each vineyard is closely monitored with a meteorological station, and the technologies of the new state-of-the-art wine cellar ensure that each vintage comes as close to perfection as possible.

One of the main protagonists in the renaissance of Southern Italian wines, Feudi di San Gregorio has carved out a reputation for making truly world-class wines in less than 30 years. The company began in the mid-1980s with the aim of safeguarding local traditions and unlocking the potential of key indigenous grapes such as Fiano, Greco, Falanghina and Aglianico.
The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of between 16 to 18°C. Following fermentation, the wine was rested in stainless steel vats for five to six months on its fine lees. During this period, it underwent regular bâtonnage to enhance complexity and texture. The distinctive packaging is inspired by Massimo Vignelli, with delicate fluting around the bottle.
