2023 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru, Domaine Antonin Guyon
Corton Grand Cru, Burgundy, France
Sumptuous yet refined, the 2023 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru from Domaine Antonin Guyon is a wine of depth, dimension, and quiet authority. Deep garnet in colour, it opens with complex aromas of black cherry, wild blackberry and plum, layered with violet, clove, and a touch of graphite. On the palate, it’s powerful but beautifully composed with dense fruit framed by fine-grained tannins and an underlying mineral edge that lends both lift and definition. Notes of dark chocolate, forest floor and sweet spice unfold through a long, resonant finish, where freshness and richness meet in perfect harmony. It’s the kind of wine that doesn’t shout its pedigree; it simply owns it.
For when: the evening deserves something commanding yet composed.
Pairs with: beef tenderloin, duck confit, or truffled mushroom dishes.
If this wine were a sculpture, it’d be carved from marble, strong, graceful, and enduring.
Domaine Antonin Guyon, headquartered in Savigny-lès-Beaune, is among the Côte d’Or’s great family estates, celebrated for its precision and balance across an exceptional range of appellations. Founded in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon, and now helmed by his sons Dominique and Michel, the domaine spans over 40 hectares from Gevrey-Chambertin to Meursault, producing wines defined by purity, texture and terroir expression.
The Corton-Bressandes vineyard lies on the mid-slope of the Corton Hill, a revered site of limestone-rich soils that yield wines noted for their refinement and ageing potential. The fruit is hand-harvested and vinified traditionally, followed by around 16 months of maturation in fine-grained French oak barrels (roughly one-third new). The 2023 vintage captures the hallmark elegance of Guyon’s style: power shaped by restraint, and grandeur balanced by grace, a Grand Cru Burgundy of poise, precision, and quiet splendour.

- Producer Information
A true family estate and one of the quiet stars of the Côte d’Or, Domaine Antonin Guyon stands for elegance, integrity and classic Burgundian craft. Founded in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon, who began by purchasing small, fragmented vineyard parcels across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, the domaine now spans over 40 hectares of prime terroir, from Gevrey-Chambertin in the north to Meursault and Pernand-Vergelesses in the south.
Today, the estate is run by Antonin’s sons, Dominique and Michel Guyon, who have carried forward their father’s meticulous, terroir-first philosophy. Every parcel is hand-harvested, vinified separately, and treated with the kind of care more often reserved for Grand Cru vineyards. Sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention in the cellar ensure that each cuvée expresses its site with clarity and finesse.
In the cellar beneath their historic home in Savigny-lès-Beaune, the Guyon family employs traditional Burgundian methods: gentle pressing, fermentation with native yeasts, and élevage in carefully selected French oak barrels (20–30% new, depending on the cuvée). The wines are renowned for their precision, balance and purity, supple reds that highlight Pinot Noir’s perfume and structure, and luminous whites that reflect the mineral brilliance of the Côte de Beaune’s limestone soils.
From their village bottlings to their distinguished Premier Crus such as Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Frétille and Volnay Clos des Chênes, Domaine Antonin Guyon continues to embody everything that defines great Burgundy: quiet confidence, craftsmanship across generations, and a deep respect for the character of place.
