2019 Chateau Le Gorce, Cru Bourgeois
Medoc, Bordeaux, France
This classic Médoc blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon is exceptional for the price. Fruity, fresh, with hints of pulpy raspberry, crunchy cherry, subtle violet, toast, vanilla, and a touch of chocolate. Fresh, mineral, well-balanced, with juicy cherry, crunchy redcurrant, blackcurrant, fresh flowers, and a touch of liquorice. Mellow tannins and good length.
Only the best grapes selected from the oldest vines make it into the Cru, which is then aged for 12-18 months in oak.

Château La Gorce is run by the enthusiastic and devoted Fabre family, who have been producing first-rate Médoc wines at this Domaine since 1980. The estate spans forty-eight hectares and meticulously cultivates grape varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc.
The journey begins in the vineyard. Meticulously selected Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes are hand-harvested at their peak ripeness. Quality is paramount. Once harvested, the grapes undergo gentle destemming and crushing. This process releases the precious juice and pulp. For this red wine, fermentation occurs with the grape skins, imparting colour, tannins, and flavour. The result? A structured wine with a dry core that sustains the vibrant black-currant fruits. The wine matures gracefully in oak barrels for 12 months. This aging process adds richness, complexity, and aromatic depth. The winemakers skilfully blend the varietals—55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon—to create a classic Médoc profile.
