England

Once an unlikely contender, England has quietly become one of the most exciting wine regions in the world. From the chalky downs of Sussex and Kent to the limestone hills of Hampshire and the gentle valleys of Gloucestershire, this cool, green island has discovered its vinous voice, elegant, precise, and full of quiet confidence. The secret lies beneath the surface: the same ancient chalk seam that runs through Champagne crosses southern England, providing perfect drainage, minerality, and light reflection for slow, even ripening.
