2007 Eroica Single Berry Riesling, Chateau Ste Michelle & Dr Loosen
Columbia Valley, Washington State, United States
Icewine Gold
A tiny-production Washington Riesling with the soul of Germany’s greatest sweet wines, made in the traditional German Trockenbeerenauslese style. This is luscious, golden and deeply concentrated, opening with apricot, ripe pineapple, orange blossom and honey, then moving into marmalade, sweet spice, black tea and a glimmer of salted caramel. Richness is the first impression, but Riesling’s electric acidity keeps the wine lifted and beautifully balanced, giving it freshness, length and the ability to age with grace.
For when
You want a rare dessert wine that feels both luxurious and brilliantly alive.
Pairs with
Tarte Tatin, peach pie, crème brûlée, blue cheese, foie gras, fruit tarts, almond pastries or a quiet glass after dinner.
Eroica is the celebrated partnership between Chateau Ste. Michelle in Washington State and Ernst Loosen of the Mosel, bringing New World fruit together with Old World Riesling discipline. Named after Beethoven’s Third Symphony, the project has become one of America’s landmark Riesling collaborations, and Single Berry Select is its rarest, most opulent expression.
