Champagne Extra Brut Prestige 1er Cru, Champagne Duval-Leroy
Champagne, France
“Precision & Poise”
This is Champagne with cut and clarity. Fine, elegant bubbles rise through the glass, carrying aromas of honeysuckle, hawthorn blossom and lemon zest, layered with toasted almond and a hint of ripe red apple. The Extra Brut dosage keeps everything taut and beautifully defined, allowing the fruit and terroir to speak with confidence.
On the palate, it is lively yet composed. The high proportion of Chardonnay brings lift, citrus and floral finesse, while Pinot Noir adds structure and quiet depth. There is a gentle softness from full malolactic fermentation, balanced by crisp acidity and a mineral thread that drives the wine forward. Aged for five to six years before release, it shows subtle complexity without heaviness. The finish is long, dry and refreshing, leaving citrus, almond and a delicate toastiness lingering.
For when you want Champagne that feels refined and serious, but still effortlessly drinkable.
Pairs with oysters, sashimi, grilled prawns or anything delicate and precise.
If this wine were a style, it would be tailored white linen, sharp lines, understated luxury and timeless appeal.
Producer
Founded in 1859, Duval-Leroy remains one of Champagne’s last great independent, family-owned houses. Based in Vertus in the Côte des Blancs, the estate comprises 200 hectares, with 40 % classified as Premier or Grand Cru across the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne. A pioneer in sustainable viticulture, Duval-Leroy was among the first houses to achieve HVE3 certification and continues to champion environmentally responsible practices in both vineyard and cellar. Under chef de cave Sandrine Logette-Jardin, the house crafts Champagnes defined by elegance, balance and precision, a philosophy recently recognised with the title of Sparkling Producer of the Year 2025 at the Sommelier Wine Awards.
