2013 Carbon Cuvee Bugatti EB03, Champagne Carbon

Champagne, France

Blue carbon and pure theatre.

This is Blanc de Blancs with a dramatic entrance and the poise to carry it off. Created as the third Bugatti collaboration, the ƎB.03 is presented in a striking dual-tone carbon fibre bottle, inspired by the Bugatti Bolide, and filled with a 2013 vintage Grand Cru Chardonnay.

In the glass, it feels bright, focused and beautifully sculpted. Citrus leads the way, followed by spring flowers, yellow fruit and a gentle drift of toasted notes and aromatic herbs. The palate has an immediate intensity, then softens into something creamier and more velvety, with fine bubbles and a cool line of freshness carrying it through. There is real energy here, but also elegance, which makes the wine feel less about sheer opulence and more about precision, purity and quiet confidence. Sleek, polished and full of lift, it is the kind of Champagne that feels luxurious without losing its nerve.

For when: the bottle needs to be every bit as memorable as the occasion.
Pairs with: scallop ceviche, tuna sashimi, delicate white fish, or something chic and citrus-laced.

The 2013 growing season in Champagne was notably cool and late, conditions that helped produce wines with freshness, tension and strong ageing potential, which suits a cuvée like this beautifully. Champagne Carbon positions the ƎB.03 as an intense, fresh Blanc de Blancs from its library stocks, and the result feels exactly that, a wine with glamour on the outside, but real finesse and chalky drive underneath.

Champagne Carbon is a modern luxury house with deep family roots in the region. It was created by Alexandre Méa, heir to the fifth generation of the Devavry family, whose winegrowing history in Champillon dates back to 1920. The project was born from an unusual idea, to pair serious, traditionally made Champagne with a bold, contemporary presentation, and after more than four years of research and development, Carbon launched using the family’s oldest reserve wines and Alexandre’s distinctive carbon-fibre bottle concept.

What makes Carbon stand out is that the visual drama is not just for show. Behind the signature bottle lies a house focused on Grand Cru and Premier Cru Chardonnay, alongside Pinot Noir and Meunier sourced from key Champagne terroirs, with a strong emphasis on precision, ageing and the expression of place. The house describes its work as balancing innovation with tradition, using meticulous cellar practices and extended maturation to build wines with both textural richness and saline finesse.

In style, Carbon sits at the intersection of craftsmanship, performance and luxury. The carbon-fibre clad bottle has become its calling card, helped by high-profile partnerships and a strong association with design-led prestige, but the underlying philosophy remains rooted in Champagne know-how passed down through generations. The result is a producer that feels unapologetically modern in image, yet firmly anchored in the region’s classic values of terroir, patience and precision.
