2018 Les Pince Vin De Bourgogne, Jean-Luc & Eric Burguet
Burgundy, France
Garnet with a soft crimson rim, this Pinot Noir whispers of Gevrey-Chambertin’s soul. Aromas of ripe cherry, wild strawberry and dark plum rise with subtle notes of forest floor and spice. The palate is supple and beautifully poised with red fruit gliding over fine, silky tannins, balanced by a thread of bright acidity. Elegant, detailed and quietly complex, it finishes long and pure with a touch of earthy warmth.
For when: dinner’s slow, the lighting’s low, and conversation flows easily.
Pairs with: roast duck, mushroom risotto, or aged Comté.
If this wine were a person, it’d be effortlessly cool, thoughtful, understated, and always perfectly in tune.
Domaine Jean-Luc & Éric Burguet is a family-run estate at the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, founded in the 1970s by Alain Burguet, a pioneer of organic viticulture in Burgundy. Today, his sons Jean-Luc and Éric continue his legacy, farming around 9 hectares of Pinot Noir from limestone and clay soils, including vines up to 90 years old. Les Pince Vin captures their house style: purity, precision, and quiet depth - a wine that bridges old-vine intensity with modern finesse.

Domaine Jean-Luc & Éric Burguet is a distinguished family-run estate located in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy. Founded in the 1970s by Alain Burguet, the domaine has been a pioneer in organic viticulture since its inception. Today, Alain’s sons, Jean-Luc and Éric, continue this legacy, managing approximately 9 hectares of predominantly Pinot Noir vineyards, including old-vine parcels up to 90 years old across village, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru sites on the limestone and clay soils of the Côte de Nuits.
The Burguet brothers employ meticulous winemaking practices to ensure the purity and expression of their wines. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo triple sorting to select only the finest fruit. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, with gentle punch-downs and pump-overs tailored to each vintage’s character. The wine is then aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, with a restrained use of new oak to preserve the wine’s integrity. Notably, the wines are bottled without fining or filtration, maintaining their natural structure and complexity.
