2025 Organic Syrah, Dominio de Punctum

La Mancha, Spain

Velvet Heat

This is Spanish Syrah with warmth, softness and a generous dark-fruited soul. From the high vineyards of Castilla-La Mancha, it opens with blackberry, blueberry, ripe plum and black cherry, followed by violet, black pepper, toast, liquorice and a little smoky spice. It is full of sun, but not heavy, with just enough freshness to keep the fruit lifted.

The palate is round, smooth and easy to love, with juicy black fruit, soft tannins and a clean, gently spiced finish. There is a touch of savoury depth, but the main pleasure is the balance: ripe fruit, relaxed texture and a quietly polished feel. A brilliant everyday red with more character than the price usually allows.

For when you want a soft, generous red that still has a bit of Spanish swagger.
Pairs with grilled lamb, beef stew, barbecue ribs, chorizo, mushroom pizza, smoky aubergine, hard cheese, or a proper burger.

Dominio de Punctum is a family-run estate in Cuenca, Castilla-La Mancha, founded in 2005 by three siblings with a focus on organic, biodynamic and vegan wines. The vineyards sit around 800 metres above sea level on clay-limestone soils, where sunny days help ripeness and cooler nights preserve freshness and aroma. The estate’s Syrah is made from 100% Syrah, showing the richness and spice of the grape while keeping the producer’s signature organic purity and balance.
