2024 Naïve Grenache, Château Maris
Minervois, Languedoc, France
Grenache in its purest form
This is Grenache stripped back to its essence, bright, juicy, and full of southern French charm. Made from 100% old-vine Grenache with no sulphur added, it opens with lifted aromas of pomegranate, red cherry, and wild Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and wonderfully fresh, with a soft, rounded texture and a vibrant, juicy core of red fruit that keeps everything lively and moreish. There is plenty of brightness here, but also a lovely sense of ease, making it feel both pure and deeply drinkable.
For when: you want a red that feels fresh, honest, and effortlessly enjoyable.
Pairs with: grilled lamb, charcuterie, roast vegetables, or Mediterranean dishes with herbs and spices.
If this wine were… a late summer walk through the garrigue, sun-warmed, fragrant, and quietly energising.
Château Maris, based in the heart of Minervois La Livinière, has built its reputation on thoughtful, forward-looking winemaking, rooted in organic and biodynamic farming. The Naïve range captures that philosophy in a particularly pure form, wines made with as little interference as possible, allowing the fruit and site to speak clearly. With its old-vine Grenache fruit, no added sulphur, and expressive mix of red berries and wild herbs, this is a wine that feels vivid, natural, and unmistakably of the Mediterranean south.
