A richly flavoured wine with aromas of smooth, ripe red and black fruits complemented by chocolatey flavours. Structured with a velvety texture, this wine has great concentration and complexity.
The PegoĢes vineyard is located between two Nature Reserves: the Tagus estuary to the Northwest and the Sado on the Southwest. To the east are the Arrabida hills and to the west the Alentejo provinceās clays. The unique soil here is named āPliocenico de PegoĢesā. It is a sandy soil formed over millions of years by sand transported by the rivers Tagus and Sado. It is this Mediterranean climate and soil combination that creates this unique PegoĢes terroir.

Herdade do Rocim is an estate located between Vidigueira and Cuba, in the Lower Alentejo. It comprises 120 hectares, 70 of which are made up of vineyards and 10 hectares of olive trees. Since its inception in 2000, Herdade do Rocim has invested heavily in the vineyards, replanting vines and introducing new varieties. They are pioneers in āamphora winesā, following the ancient traditions of vinification in pots known as āTahlaā. The vineyard is cultivated manually and minimal intervention is used in the cellar, to produce fresh, elegant and mineral wines. In 2018, Herdade do Rocim was awarded Best Wine Producer by Revista de Vinhos.
To produce Adega de PegƵes āSelected Harvest Redā PegƵes fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a long skin maceration. Adega de PegƵes āSelected Harvest Redā PegƵes was then aged for 12 months in 225 litre second use French and American oak barrels followed by four months in bottle, prior to release.
