Opulent, “Worthy of a grand cru”, according to the Hachette Guide, this pure Merlot is aged in new barrels, a glass of rich, powerful wine with a beautiful balance between roasted aromas and intense black fruit flavours. With velvety tannins and well-integrated oak, the dark berry flavours are complemented by hints of cigar box and a smooth, elegant finish.

2018 has been lauded as an excellent and classic vintage in Bordeaux and this wine certainly lives up to the hype.

Château Lestrille Capmartin wines are full-bodied, with structure and personality. The Château is located at the northern point of the Entre-deux-Mers appellation in the small town of St. Germain du Puch between Libourne and Bordeaux. Following the philosophy that winemaking lies in the vineyard itself, sustainable winegrowing practices are used in order to respect the balance of the soil. Talented winemaker Estelle Roumage combines strict selection, with a tailor-made approach to vinification. Each parcel is vinified with minimal intervention to respect and optimise the characteristics of the vintage and terroir, with subtle oak ageing, creating charming wines with the utmost appeal. The estate is certified Haute Valeur Environmentale (HVE) Level 3.

A wine made with the utmost care from the vine to the bottle, this is the result of the Château’s top wine-making expertise. Each parcel was vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to retain the purity of fruit, followed by ageing in carefully selected barriques, enhancing the wine with elegance and complexity. The wine underwent further ageing in bottle, prior to release.
