2009 Shiraz, Flametree
Frankland River, Great Southern, Australia
The 2009 shiraz shows fruit flavours in the plum, cherry, liquorice and spice spectrum. It is wonderfully fragrant with a bouquet of plum, cherry and spicy blueberry. A generous, fruit driven palate of berries and liquorice follows soft velvety tannins.

Flametree Wines vision is to produce brilliant Australian wines of uncompromising quality and character, this is reflected in the 5 red-star rating they have consistently achieved from James Halliday since 2011. Award winning wine maker, Cliff Royle, selects exceptional quality fruit from throughout the Margaret River wine region, to produce beautifully hand-crafted wines with unique flavour, structure and depth.
The fruit for the 2009 Shiraz was sourced from Frankland River. Cool fermentation was followed by two weeks on skins to allow for better tannin integration. Maturation was 12 months in new and older French and American oak. The wine was then egg white fined and bottled in June 2010.
