The 2022 Montmains has an intense mineral nose followed by fresh, vibrant fruit, crisp acidity and citrus notes. Beautifully balanced, this is pure and round on the palate, with a creamy texture and a long, salivating finish. Classic Chablis.

The 1er Cru of Montmains is one of the best-known Premier Cru vineyards and stretches along an exposed hillside to the southwest of the town of Chablis. It is angled slightly east toward the morning sun, and the slopes of the vineyard have enough sunshine to ripen grapes, while still retaining the fresh acidity that is so important to Chablis wines. Montmains is known for producing fresh, elegant wines with good minerality.

Domaine Jean Goulley

The grapes were harvested at optimum maturity and were fermented with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled vats using organic principles. The wine spent nine months in stainless steel vats and was made without oak influence to retain the purity of fruit and to let the characteristics of the Premier Cru Montmains terroir shine through. A restricted use of sulphur was used during the vinification, and the wine was lightly filtered, prior to bottling.
