2024 Pomelado Orange, Dominio de Punctum
La Mancha, Spain
Sun in a Glass.
Vibrant, textural and full of Mediterranean charm, the 2024 Pomelado Orange from Dominio de Punctum is a joyful expression of organic winemaking and Spanish sunshine. Deep golden amber in colour, it opens with enticing aromas of orange peel, apricot, chamomile and dried flowers, underpinned by hints of honey, spice and crushed almonds. The palate is lively and tactile with flavours of marmalade, quince and peach that unfurl over gentle tannins, with a beautifully dry, savoury edge. There’s freshness and grip in perfect balance, finishing long, zesty and lightly herbal.
Wild, honest and deliciously refreshing, it’s orange wine with both energy and elegance.
For when: the conversation turns golden and the table feels endless.
Pairs with: grilled octopus, roasted vegetables, spiced tapas or soft cheese.
If this wine were a song, it’d be flamenco at sunset, expressive, rhythmic and impossible not to love.
Dominio de Punctum, founded by the Fernández-Cifuentes family in Las Pedroñeras, Castilla-La Mancha, is a proudly organic and biodynamic estate dedicated to crafting wines of purity, sustainability and expressive character. The family converted their vineyards to full organic certification early on, focusing on minimal intervention and a deep respect for the land.
The Pomelado Orange is made from white grapes (typically Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier) fermented on their skins, a natural, ancient technique that gives colour, texture and aromatic complexity. Fermented with native yeasts and aged briefly on lees, it’s bottled with minimal sulphur to preserve its raw vibrancy. The result is a wine that bridges tradition and modernity - sunny, sincere and perfectly in tune with the new wave of Spanish creativity.
