Dame Jane Rose, Champagne Henri Giraud *Gift Box*

Champagne, France

Blush-gold in the glass with a delicate stream of fine bubbles, Dame Jane Rosé is where art meets alchemy. Aromas of wild strawberry, blood orange and rose petal unfold with whispers of crushed herbs and spice. The palate is poised and textural with ripe red berries wrapped in mineral precision, lifted by a citrus zest brightness and a hint of savoury depth. Silky yet vibrant, it finishes long, elegant, and quietly magnetic.

For when: elegance is non-negotiable.
Pairs with: tuna tartare, roast duck, or the kind of evening that calls for crystal glasses and candlelight.
If this wine were a person, it’d turn every entrance into a moment - confident, graceful, and entirely unforgettable.

Henri Giraud’s Dame Jane Rosé is crafted from the Grand Cru vineyards of Aÿ, blending predominantly Pinot Noir with a touch of Chardonnay. Its defining signature lies in its ageing within traditional terracotta amphorae - the “Dame-Jane” vessels that lend the wine both name and soul. This unique maturation allows gentle micro-oxygenation, enhancing purity, minerality, and texture without the imprint of oak. The result is a rosé Champagne that feels alive — structured yet ethereal, modern yet timeless.

Notable Awards
95/100, James Suckling “Beginning with the striking, pale copper color, this is very unconventional rosé champagne. Wonderful fruit aromas that range from cherry and wild strawberry to persimmon and candied orange with a touch of sushi ginger. Then comes the mouth-filling and well-structured palate that has an amazing grainy-chalky feel to it, unlike anything else in this category. Very long, saline finish. A cuvée of pinot noir with a small amount of chardonnay that was vinified in amphoras. From organically grown grapes.”

Champagne Henri Giraud is a distinguished, family-owned Champagne house located in the Grand Cru village of Aÿ, with roots tracing back to 1625. The Hémart family, contemporaries of Henri IV, established their presence in Aÿ in the early 17th century. In the early 20th century, Léon Giraud married into the Hémart family and revitalised the vineyard after it was devastated by phylloxera. Today, the house is led by Emmanuelle Giraud, the 13th generation of the Giraud-Hémart lineage, continuing a legacy of excellence in Champagne production.
Henri Giraud is renowned for its commitment to terroir expression and innovative winemaking techniques. The house exclusively uses oak barrels sourced from the nearby Argonne Forest, a practice reintroduced by Claude Giraud in 1990. These barrels are crafted from carefully selected trees, with specific terroirs within the forest imparting distinct characteristics to the wines. This meticulous approach enhances the depth and complexity of their Champagnes.
Under the guidance of cellar master Sébastien Le Golvet, Henri Giraud employs a philosophy that balances tradition with innovation. The winemaking process emphasises minimal intervention, utilising natural materials and fermentation vessels such as terracotta and stoneware, alongside the signature Argonne oak barrels. This approach allows the wines to authentically reflect the unique minerality and character of the Aÿ terroir.
