ContradaGranda Extra Dry Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Masottina
Conegliano Valdobbiadene, Veneto, Italy
Elegant, poised, and quietly exuberant, the ContradaGranda Prosecco Superiore dances across the palate with effortless charm. Pale straw in the glass with a lively, continuous stream of bubbles, it opens with fragrant notes of green apple, pear, and white plum, lifted by whispers of jasmine, acacia, and wisteria. The first sip is all freshness and finesse, a silky play of crisp orchard fruit and citrus zest wrapped in a soft, airy mousse. Though labelled “Extra Dry,” it strikes a perfect balance between delicate sweetness and taut, mineral-driven energy, finishing long, clean, and quietly seductive.
For when: the table’s set, the conversation’s flowing, and the moment feels brighter than expected.
Pairs with: tempura prawns, creamy risotto, or soft cheeses with honey.
If this wine were a song, it’d be a classic Italian ballad, smooth, romantic, and timelessly elegant.
Masottina’s ContradaGranda is a beautiful expression of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills, blending fruit from three distinct terroirs: Ogliano for aromatic depth, Solighetto for floral lift, and Rolle for its refined acidity. Crafted under the care of the Dal Bianco family, whose winemaking legacy stretches back to 1946, this wine embodies their devotion to sustainability, balance, and quiet sophistication, the hallmarks of truly great Prosecco.

The Dal Bianco family has passionately devoted its energy to producing wine since 1946. It all began when grandfather Epifanio acquired the Ai Palazzi estate at Gorgo al Monticano, comprising five hectares of vineyard. When the manor house overlooking the vineyard was restored, an ancient inscription came to light: ‘Casa Masottina’, lending its name to this historic brand which has been owned by the Dal Bianco family for three generations. Today, Masottina wines are the product of almost 300 hectares which extend across the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Hills and the Veneto region. The vines are carefully cultivated by the family in keeping with the sustainable rules of SQNPI. It is however, through the Cru wines from R.D.O. Ponente and R.D.O. Levante in the hills of Ogliano, that the finest expression of Masottina’s quality truly shines. These stunning wines have gained deserved recognition and for the first time, Wine Spectator recently placed the Rive di Ogliano in the magazine’s Top 100 most important wines in the world.
The selected hand picked grapes are fermented off the skins at a controlled temperature of 15 - 18°C. The prise de mousse and lees maturation normally take place for approximately 60 days in pressure tanks, on selected yeasts, at a temperature of 13 - 14°C. The wine is aged for at least one month before distribution.
