Brut Champagne, Champagne Abelé 1757
Champagne, France
“The Effortless Classic”
A Champagne with quiet confidence, this Brut balances freshness and elegance with a timeless ease. Pale gold in the glass, it offers aromas of citrus blossom, crisp apple, and toasted brioche, lifted by delicate mineral notes. The palate is vibrant and refined, featuring orchard fruit and lemon zest layered with hints of almond and honey, carried by a fine, persistent mousse. The finish is long, clean, and refreshingly precise.
For when: the moment deserves bubbles but not fuss – from big celebrations to a Tuesday night that just needs elevating.
Pairs with: oysters, sushi, or the clink of glasses at the start of something memorable.
If this wine were a guest, it’d glide in with understated style, make everyone feel seen, and never leave before pouring one last glass.
Founded in 1757, Champagne Abelé is one of the region’s oldest houses, rooted in Reims and known for its elegance and craft. With over 250 years of history, the house has quietly refined its art, sourcing from prime vineyard sites across Champagne to create cuvées that speak of finesse and balance. Tradition and precision remain at its core, every bottle a nod to heritage, and every sip a reminder of why Abelé endures.

Faithful to the vision of its founders, Abelé 1757 selects sites with the most promising aromatic potential. The vineyards are situated on slopes at varying altitudes, benefitting from optimal sun exposure and the renowned chalky soils, which contribute minerality and finesse to the wines. Chardonnay leaves an indelible impression on the signature Abelé 1757 style, where is is cultivated on the premium soils of the Côte des Blancs, together with grapes grown in Vitryat and Sézannais for consistency of style and a delicious saline note on the palate. To guarantee a constant supply of very high quality, Abelé 1757 has forged close links with a small circle of passionate vine-growers. These craftsmen cultivate with the deepest respect for nature on plots sometimes as small as gardens. Meticulous hand-harvesting ensures only perfectly ripe grapes are selected for pressing.
Gentle pressing of whole clusters preserved the delicate aromas. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness, with gentle skin-contact maceration of the Pinot Noir to impart the delicate pink colour. The blend, which includes 30% reserve wines, was bottled and skilfully stacked in an impressive feat of balance on wooden lathes, all set for long cellar-ageing in the deep, chalky cellars for at least three to four years. The Abelé 1757 Rosé was aged to perfection to encapsulate the signature House style, while the liqueur d’éxpedition was a 100% multi-vintage Chardonnay. 7g/l dosage enhanced the wine’s inherent characteristics and satisfies the most discerning of palates.
