Moscatel Emilín Solera Familiar, Bodegas Lustau, 375ml

Jerez de la Frontera, Andalucía, Spain

Seductive, perfumed and utterly captivating, the Moscatel Emilín is a luscious expression of one of Sherry’s most aromatic grapes. Deep mahogany with a glint of iodine at the rim, it opens with soaring aromas of orange blossom, honey, and candied citrus peel, intertwined with notes of fig, raisin, and warm spice. The palate is rich and velvety with waves of dried fruit, toffee and sweet spice unfold over a lively backbone of acidity that keeps the wine perfectly balanced. The finish is long, floral and gently zesty, leaving a lingering echo of caramelised orange and sun-dried fruit. It’s indulgent yet graceful, the taste of Spanish sunlight in a glass.

For when: the evening needs something golden to end on.
Pairs with: citrus tarts, crème brûlée, or spiced fruitcake.
If this wine were a scent, it’d be orange blossom carried on warm sea air.

Made from 100% Moscatel grown in Lustau’s Las Cruces vineyard near Chipiona, this dessert Sherry is aged for eight years in Jerez de la Frontera, allowing the variety’s natural perfume and sweetness to evolve into richness and depth. The grapes, sun-dried before pressing, concentrate their sugars and aromatics, producing a wine that balances opulence with freshness.

Part of Lustau’s Solera Familiar range, the Moscatel Emilín is one of the most expressive examples of its kind, a dessert wine of true finesse and harmony. Serve slightly chilled at 10–12°C to let its floral brightness and golden sweetness shine in perfect equilibrium.

Regarded as one of the greatest and most respected names in Sherry, Bodegas Lustau stands at the pinnacle of Andalusian winemaking, a benchmark for quality, authenticity, and craftsmanship. Founded in 1896 by José Ruiz-Berdejo, the estate began as a small almacenista (stockholder) ageing and blending wines for larger houses. Over the decades, Lustau evolved from humble beginnings into a global ambassador for fine Sherry, earning acclaim for its meticulous sourcing, blending, and innovation.

Based in Jerez de la Frontera, with additional bodegas in El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Lustau uniquely represents all three of the Sherry Triangle’s towns, allowing the house to showcase the full spectrum of terroir and style: from the saline freshness of Manzanilla to the nutty depth of Amontillado and the velvety opulence of Pedro Ximénez.

Lustau’s defining strength lies in its unparalleled range. The Solera Reserva series highlights traditional, meticulously aged styles; the Almacenista collection honours small independent producers and their individual soleras; and the VORS (Very Old Rare Sherry) range offers century-old treasures of staggering complexity and rarity. Every wine undergoes patient maturation under flor or oxidative ageing in centuries-old casks, capturing the delicate balance between time, air, and wood.

Under the guidance of Emilio Lustau’s successors and now as part of the Caballero Group, the bodega continues to set the gold standard for Sherry, combining heritage and innovation with unwavering precision. Today, Lustau is celebrated not only for its technical mastery but for preserving the living soul of Jerez: wines of profound depth, layered aromatics, and timeless Andalusian grace.
