2023 Origines Rosé Turitelles, Domaine d`Altugnac
Limoux, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Pale, petal-pink and glinting with silver hues, this high-altitude rosé is all freshness and finesse. Aromas of wild strawberry, white peach and grapefruit peel mingle with hints of mountain herbs and crushed stone. On the palate, it’s crisp and elegant, balancing juicy red fruit with bright citrus and a whisper of salinity. Fine texture and mineral lift carry through to a long, graceful finish, a rosé that feels as clean as a breeze through pine and stone.
For when: the afternoon stretches lazily into evening.
Pairs with: grilled prawns, tomato salads, or anything shared outdoors.
If this wine were a place, it’d be a sunlit terrace with a cool breeze and nowhere to be.
Perched in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Domaine d’Altugnac sits at the heart of the Limoux appellation, where altitude and limestone soils bring tension and clarity to every wine. The Origines range showcases the domaine’s distinctive terroir of mountain freshness meeting Mediterranean charm. The name ‘Turitelles’ refers to the ancient marine fossils embedded in the vineyard’s chalky soils, which lend the wines their hallmark minerality. The 2023 vintage captures this character beautifully: crisp, aromatic, and effortlessly refined, a rosé born from both sun and stone.
Whats in the bottle

Jean-Luc Terrier and Christian Collovray, the visionary minds behind Domaine des Deux Roches (also known as Bourcier-Martinot), expanded their horizons beyond Mâcon to Limoux in the southwest Languedoc in 1997. Today, they are proudly joined by their sons, Julien Collovray and Pierre-Alexis Terrier. Their vineyards, situated at 500 meters elevation, thrive on shallow soils rich in limestone. Paying homage to this lofty terroir, the domaine rebranded itself as Altugnac in 2020, reclaiming the historic name of the village of Antugnac from the 14th century.
As each grape variety matures, they are harvested and vinified separately. In order to obtain a clear juice from red-skinned grapes, they are delicately placed in the press by gravity and direct pressing is carried out quickly. The pressing is slow and the juices are refreshed and decant in stainless steel tank. After settling the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in vats and the rearing on fine lees continues until February.
