2024 Whispering Angel Rosé, Chateau d'Esclans
Provence, France
Pale blush with crystal clarity, Whispering Angel 2024 charms with effortless elegance. Its nose offers fresh red berries of strawberry and raspberry, edged by citrus blossom, pink grapefruit and faint herbs. The palate is crisp and vibrant, with juicy fruit, fine minerality and a saline spine that gives it energy. Medium-bodied yet seamless, it finishes dry, long and beautifully balanced.
For when: you want Provence in a glass.
Pairs with: oysters, grilled langoustines, or a fresh Niçoise salad.
If this wine were a memory, it’d be sunrise over the Riviera - calm, glowing, and infinitely inviting.
Château d’Esclans sources Whispering Angel from Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino) parcels across the Esclans valley and surrounding hillsides. The grapes are harvested at night, the juice fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve purity and liveliness. In 2024, the estate describes it as “well-rounded, focused and delicious,” with a mix of dried raspberries, frozen strawberries and mild spice on the nose - clean, sleek and driven with bright acidity.

Perched in the hills above Fréjus on the Côte d’Azur, Château d’Esclans has become the global icon of modern Provence rosé. Founded in the 19th century and transformed by Sacha Lichine in 2006, the estate redefined the category - proving that rosé could be not only refreshing and stylish, but also complex, age-worthy, and world-class.
The château’s Grenache, Cinsault, Rolle (Vermentino) and Syrah vineyards benefit from the cooling influence of the Mediterranean and the limestone-rich soils of the Esclans Valley, producing fruit of exceptional brightness and balance. Winemaking is meticulous: night harvesting, gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentations, and for the top cuvées like Garrus and Les Clans, fermentation and ageing in French oak to achieve texture and depth.
From the effortlessly elegant Whispering Angel to the opulent, oak-aged Garrus, Château d’Esclans crafts wines that embody Provence sophistication - pale in colour, pure in flavour, and timeless in appeal. Each bottle captures the essence of the French Riviera: sunlight, style, and a whisper of luxury.
100% stainless steel fermentation tanks. A controlled fermentation temperature (14ºC) is used as well as ‘bâtonnage’ of the yeast lees. Three to four months ageing in tank on yeast lees.
