Champagne Amazone de Palmer, Champagne Palmer & Co
Champagne, France
A rare cuvée, which is only produced every five to six years. It is an exceptional Champagne with sublime aromas of exotic fruits layered with cinnamon spice, dried fruit, candied zest, roasted hazelnuts and brioche. Complex, rich and intense, with a remarkable freshness and an exquisite finish.
This cuvée is produced exclusively from the Premier and Grand Crus of the Montagne de Reims. The two Premier Crus of Trépail and Villers-Marmery are highly reputed for their Chardonnays with citrus, mineral, and floral notes. The Grand Crus of Verzenay and Mailly are located at the heart of Pinot Noir terroir and produce wines with rich aromas of red fruits, spices, and saline undertones. The Premier Crus of Ludes, Chigny- les-Roses, and Rilly-la-Montagne add structure and freshness to the Pinot Noir.

Founded in 1947 and historically established in Reims, Palmer & Co is rooted in the greatest terroirs of the Montagne de Reims with over 200 hectares of vineyards classified as Premier and Grand Crus. Dominated by the freshness and purity of Chardonnay, the Palmer & Co style is characterised by its precision and elegance. The significant proportion of reserve wines and the prolonged ageing give it a rare fullness and maturity. Today Palmer & Co is one of the top-quality references of Champagne, renowned for its signature style of aromatic complexity and refinement as well as its innovative approach to blending, sustainable winegrowing, and a long maturing process for both vintage and non-vintage cuvées. Champagne Palmer is certified sustainable by Haute Valeur Environmentale and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (VDC).
The grapes were carefully hand-harvested, followed by traditional vinification. The Amazone incorporates a solera of Chardonnay which comprises 18% of the blend, imbuing the wine with wonderful complexity and elegance. It was cellared in May 2013, and was subsequently bottle- aged on the lees for between nine and 10 years in the 18-metre-deep chalk cellars. Dosage 6 g/l.
