2023 Chorey-lès-Beaune Les Champs Longs, Domaine Antonin Guyon
Bright, juicy and irresistibly open, the 2023 Chorey-lès-Beaune Les Champs Longs from Domaine Antonin Guyon is a wonderfully pure and expressive Pinot Noir, the kind of wine that reminds you why Burgundy captivates like no other. Brilliant crimson in colour, it greets the nose with aromas of ripe cherry, redcurrant and crushed raspberry, lifted by hints of violets and soft spice. The palate is supple and silky, offering fresh red fruit wrapped in fine tannins and bright acidity. A touch of earth and subtle oak brings dimension, while the finish lingers with elegance and freshness. Graceful, charming and beautifully balanced, a wine that radiates approachability and finesse in equal measure.
For when: you want Burgundy that’s full of joy, not formality.
Pairs with: roast chicken, charcuterie boards, mushroom tart, or grilled salmon.
If this wine were a mood, it’d be Sunday lunch with old friends.
Domaine Antonin Guyon, based in Savigny-lès-Beaune, is a cornerstone of classical Burgundy, family-owned, precise, and devoted to expressing terroir with authenticity. Founded in the 1960s by Antonin Guyon and now guided by his sons Dominique and Michel, the estate spans more than 40 hectares across the Côte d’Or, producing wines that combine clarity of fruit with Burgundian refinement.
The Les Champs Longs vineyard lies just north of Beaune, on deep alluvial and limestone soils that yield wines known for their soft texture and generous fruit. The 2023 vintage was hand-harvested and vinified traditionally, before ageing for around 14 months in fine French oak barrels (approximately one-quarter new). The result is a signature Guyon expression, pure, balanced and gently structured. A wine that proves everyday Burgundy can still be quietly extraordinary.
