Deep ruby and full of intent, this Crozes-Hermitage delivers all the drama and poise you want from Syrah grown on the Rhône’s stony slopes. Aromas of blackberry, violet, smoked bacon and cracked pepper rise from the glass, joined by hints of incense and spice. The palate is rich, dark and textured with ripe fruit wrapped around savoury depth and that signature Saint Cosme lift. The finish seems to go on forever, equal parts power and grace.

Louis Barruol’s Saint Cosme estate is one of the Rhône’s true artisans. His Crozes-Hermitage comes from granitic northern parcels, vinified with whole clusters to capture perfume and texture.
