2016 High Eden Cabernet Sauvignon, Berton Vineyard
“The Quiet Storm”
Inky crimson in the glass, this Cabernet Sauvignon delivers depth, precision and cool-climate poise. Aromas of cassis, black cherry and bay leaf mingle with cedar, graphite and a hint of mint. The palate is powerful yet composed with layers of dark fruit, cocoa and tobacco glide over fine, silky tannins. Balanced acidity and subtle oak give the wine lift and longevity, finishing long, savoury and refined.
For when: the evening’s slow, the conversation deep, and the fire’s glowing low.
Pairs with: roast beef, grilled lamb, or a perfectly aged cheddar.
If this wine were a mood, it’d be a velvet jacket and Miles Davis on vinyl.
Sourced from the cool, high-altitude subregion of Eden Valley, Berton’s High Eden range captures elegance and structure in equal measure. This Cabernet is a standout, a blend of mountain freshness and Barossa richness, built to age gracefully while drinking beautifully now.
