The 2018 Le Cigare Volant, labelled \u003cstrong data-start=\"249\" data-end=\"267\"\u003eCuvée Oumuamua\u003c\/strong\u003e, is a brighter, more lifted expression than some of the older, weightier vintages, blending \u003cstrong data-start=\"360\" data-end=\"404\"\u003e52% Grenache, 35% Cinsault and 13% Syrah\u003c\/strong\u003e. Expect plum, raspberry, red cherry and blackcurrant, with cracked pepper, dried herbs, rose petal, anise and a little savoury spice drifting through the glass. \u003cspan class=\"\" data-state=\"closed\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"1195\"\u003eOn the palate, it is medium-bodied, juicy and wonderfully alive, less about brute force and more about perfume, snap and drinkability. The Grenache brings red-fruited warmth, the Cinsault gives lift and floral brightness, while the Syrah adds pepper and darker edges. There is a lovely food-friendly freshness here, with enough spice and savoury grip to make it more than just a charming red.
